Introducing Cowboy Space: A $275 Million Series B

The Cowboy Space team.
On May 11, 2026, we announced $275 million in Series B financing at a $2 billion valuation and introduced our new name: Cowboy Space Corporation. The funding supports our work to build the infrastructure needed to power and run AI compute in orbit.
Index Ventures led the round, joined by new investors IVP, Blossom Capital, and SAIC, alongside existing investors Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Construct Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, Interlagos, and our founder, Baiju Bhatt.
From Aetherflux to Cowboy Space
Founded in 2024 as Aetherflux, we began with a focus on capturing solar energy in space. Cowboy Space reflects the wider mission we are building toward: connecting launch vehicles, space-based power, and in-orbit compute in one integrated system.
Building for Compute in Orbit
Our approach starts with the requirements of a data center in space. We are developing solar-powered satellites, a purpose-built launch vehicle, and compute payloads designed for the orbital environment. The rocket’s upper stage and data center payload are designed as a single vehicle, reducing redundant mass and optimizing the power and compute delivered to orbit. Each upper stage is intended to become a one-megawatt data center once in orbit.
We also announced our collaboration with NVIDIA to deploy NVIDIA Space-1 Vera Rubin Modules in low Earth orbit. This financing will help accelerate the development of these systems and our goal of delivering AI compute in space at commercial scale.
